Referees Course in Uttoxeter

Click to Email here for further details
Please make sure you give us details of how to make contact with you

This time it will be a Traditional Course [and what is that?] rather than the 'new'   Two Tier Training Course [and what is that?].

The Referees Training course:

Traditional Course.
A 10 week class room based course covering all aspects of the Laws of Association Football along with advice on the application of the laws of the game plus any other relevant detail about becoming a Referee including promotion to higher levels of Refereeing.  Candidates take a one hour written examination followed by an oral examination on the Laws of Association Football.

Two Tier Training.
The course is split in to two phases:
1)

The basic Laws of Association Football lasting four weeks.  At the end of this phase candidates take a multiple choice examination which they must pass if they wish to proceed to phase two.
Those who pass this tier receive a certificate to recognise they have passed a course on basic Law.
2)

For those the wish to progress to becoming active referees, tier two is a further six weeks dealing with the application of Law along with other helpful information for dealing with various situations before, during and after a game.
During this second phase the candidates will have to referee three games as part of their initial training and will get mentor support during this time.  Candidates get first hand experience on what it means to be an active referee and gain knowledge that can be discussed back in the class room.
At the end of phase two each candidate takes a further written examination followed by an oral examination.
Everyone that passes will receive a certificate and becomes a trainee referee.
